In these days full of publishing news and media writers publishing for Saint George (or, rather, media personalities publishing books for Saint George 2019), we wanted to offer you a slightly different list of recommendations.
This year, we want to recognize a literary genre that critics often leave as a minor genre, but which delights many people around the world. Yes, for Sant Jordi 2019 we want to talk about the black novel . So, we present authors from all over the world, with very different visions of what the black novel should be. You won't find specific book recommendations, but we will introduce you to the main researchers of each author. Here we go!
Classy classics
Obviously, we have to start the St. George 2019 entry by telling you about two of the world's best-known detective authors: Arthur Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie. Both came from Great Britain, and Email Address List surely built the foundation that has inspired many of today's authors.
Agatha Christie , the queen of crime, brings us Miss Marple and Hercules Poirot. Both, retired, appear in multiple books, series and films.
Arthur Conan Doyle solves crimes with Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson . These are books that never go out of style, although the trend now is to watch the Sherlock series .
In any case, if you are more curious about the lives of these authors than about their novels, choose Il·lustres execrables , a book by Santi Jiménez and Malcolm Otero that transcribes the homonymous section of the program Via Lliure (RAC1). If you read it, you will never look at them the same again, since in these small presentations the authors will be completely demystified.
Nordic Noir
If we calculated how many literary detectives (or crimes) there are per inhabitant in the Nordic countries, the index would be very high. And because there are so many, there are all kinds of researchers. Here are some of the kings of the current noir novel:
Jo Nesbø takes us to Norway with Harry Hole , one of the most anarchic police officers in the world.
Hjorth and Rosenfeldt make us hate Sebastian Bergmann while portraying the most problematic aspects of Sweden today.
Camilla Lackberg is Erica Falck 's alter ego . In a small town on the Swedish coast, Erica, who is a writer, solves cases in the area.
Jussi Adler-Olsen writes the stories of Carl Mørck , a rowdy, chaotic Danish policeman who investigates archived cases.
Arnaldur Indrasson writes from remote Iceland, and the protagonist of his adventures is Erlendur Sveinsson .
Anglo-Saxons
